So I was going back to my flat after class today and passed a screaming Mother/child/animal on a rope combo on my way up the hill.
Nothing new there really, I usually ignore it and keep on walking up the hill, but today’s screaming match caught my ear.

“If you let go of that lead again I’m gonna hit you!”

Cue tears and tantrums.

Now I actually don’t blame the kid, he had a dog on a lead and the dog was nearly as big as he was and kept tugging on the lead (as dogs do when someone lighter than them is at the other end).

Now surely a sensible person would have taken the dog’s lead off the child rather than threatening him with violence?

But nope, this situation evidently called for “mam logic”

Mam logic

Desc: When a mother (or often father) threatens a child in a contradictory way with violence in order to make them stop doing something i.e.: “If you run in front of traffic I’m going to kill you. “ “If you don’t stop crying I’m going to hit you.” Etc etc etc
