Funnily enough Orlando from Orlando: A Biography by Virginia Wolf (that's the same Orlando that turns up in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen by Alan Moore).
Why?
I quite like the idea of being able to live forever (although I suppose that doesn't really apply if it's just for a month) go adventuring and swap gender at will.
