So I went to my very first Whitby Goth Weekend last week (I use "weekend" in the loosest sense of the word as it was Thursday to Tuesday morning lol).
was great though :D
Thursday I stayed in a B+B with [livejournal.com profile] kev36663 , it was a nice little place :)
We went to the Met (Kev was helping with the sound, which gave him an excuse to play with the microphones before hand, lol).
The Furries all showed up as their Fursonas especialy for one of the Comedians that night (he had been there the previous year, and from what I hear done the exact same set, anyways his joke about the "Wolf Organ" had appealed to them so much the decided to dress up for him this time), the look on his face when he walked in and saw them was pretty amazing. He was very funny, my sides kinda hurt when he finished lol.
After all the comedians Alice Moving Under Skies played. It's a shame so many people left just after the comedians because they played an awesome set :)
After Thursday, I stayed with [livejournal.com profile] kev36663 , [livejournal.com profile] pandaemonaeum  and Ghost, in a flat that seemed to have got lost in a time warp somewhere (it was comfy and all, just it was very er...Brown...And there were two seriously creepy teddies sitting on the bed in the room Kev and I were in.)
Friday, Kev DJed (DJ'd?) at The Shambles, and from what he told me he played first set it sounds like he played a really good set, however I couldn't hear it because Carl, Jen and I ended up at the back of the room after it was suddenly decided that the table we were on was to close to the dancefloor and had to be moved :(
We spent the next however long it was doing whatever the ear version of squinting (the sound in The Shambles doesn't travel well) is and occasionally saying "What's that?", "That sounds familiar!", "Is that Gothminster???", and occasionaly fighting off really badly dressed people that were trying to steal the seat I was keeping for Kev:
"Could you move your bag?"
"Sorry someone is sitting here"
"No they aren't there's been nobody there for the last twenty minutes"
"It's for the DJ"
"Yeah right, just let me have the seat"
"Um, so the fact this bag is full of CD cases doesn't bother you?"
*badly dressed person wanders on*
The order of the night plan seemed to go out of the window completely, I still had a good time though, Mandr01d were exellent as always, don't think Carl and Jen quite "got" them but nevermind, don't think I was quite ready for Burlesque Darth Vader though :S
I left at about 1ish to go get the key from Ghost and Pandaemonaeum  (the flat only had one key so the plan was I would go collect it and then take it back down to the Shambles so me and Kev could get back in at the end of the night), Kev was STILL waiting to play his second set due to more last minute changes.
So on my way back to the flat some complete randomers asked if I was a Ministry fan :S
I got to the flat, door was closed, no big deal was kind of expecting that so I rang Pandaemonaeum..Answerphone...Tried her other phone..."The service you have called is currently unavailable please try again later beeeeeeeeep!"
Tried the door again, nope still locked, and the first phone...Answerphone again. This time I left a voicemail.
"Hey I'm ouside could you let me in so I can get the key please? It's really cold out heeeeeeere!"
Tried the phones again, no answer so I texted Kev to tell him what was up, then after a wait rang Marie again.
She answered this time, turns out the Steampunk night that Ghost was DJing hadn't quite finished so they were still over there.
So I went over and helped pack up and then went back to the flat with them. Pssst Ghost is very funny when he's drunk lol.
Saterday, we had a looooong lie in (as in by the time we woke up it was midday and Ghost and Pandaemonaeum had long gone to the Lesuire Centre (Pandaemonaeum had a stall in there for her bussiness Forever In Black), so we got up, made breakfast, nommed breakfast, went over to the Lesuire Centre, had a look around there, left, I had potato on a stick (OM NOM NOM) and then we wandered over to the Spa to look at the market there.
I drooled over dreads, Kev bought a shirt.
We ended up at a Steampunk night that night, which was also a lot of fun (kind of unexpected as I was put off Steampunk a few years ago by someone who at the time was rather big in the scene but apprently isn't now), the band sounded pretty good, but they need to work on their performance a bit more, they seemed kinda wooden. I did quite like what they did with the ship light and the smoke machine though :)
Sunday we had intended to wake up earlier...Well I was awake earlier anyways, Kev kept on sleeping for a good while after I got up.
Sunday was my birthday, and there were eggs from happy chickens in the fridge, so I made my ultimate breakfast comfort food...DIPPY EGG AND SOILDERS OM NOM NOM!
We preppared for Sunday dinner then popped out to go to the Lesure Centre and grab some bits and peices we were missing. I got a fab birthday card from Pandaemonaeum and Ghost (A Victorian Lady showing off her ankles! SCANDELOUS!) When we came back the flat smelled divine! (Yeah I'm a bit of a fail veggie, I like the smell of roasting meat :S)
Dinner was delicious (I do like a good Sunday dinner, I do) :)
After dinner Pandaemonaeum gave me an un-expected gift...A black and white striped, underbust corset. I'm wearing it as I type actually (just been showing it off to some people that wanted to see one of her corsets in real life), it's so comfy :D I loves it :D
Then Ghost and Pandaemonaeum went off to the Met to DJ Sexy Sunday and Kev and I went to The Shambles to see Uberbyte.
I have seen Uberbyte four times within the last year, and they just seem to keep on getting better :) Quote of the night from Rikki:
"I LOVE YOU KEV!"
Lol I do wish he would stop flirting with my boyfriend...Infront of his wife too...Has that man no shame? Lol
Then we wandered off to the Met for the end of Sexy Sunday, it seemed really cool, but it was kind of an odd atmosphere walking into something halfway through, never-the-less I enjoyed myself and had a very happy Birthday :)
Monday I had one of those mornings where you're awake, but actually moving is impossible. I heard the fire alarm going off, still couldn't move, mind awake, body not playing.
when I dd eventually make it up I found Pandaemonaeum making breakfast (which is what had caused the fire alarm to go off, it's not that she was burning things it was that the ventilation wasn't to good in there), so after she was done with hers and Ghost's I made mine.
Linda Mac burgers, fried egg, fried onions and hash browns, mmmmmmmmmmmm!
I totally failed at making the egg though, all was well until I lifted it out of the pan and the yolk fell out of the bottom :( Still it tasted good :)
Johno and Laura showed up at some point, and Kev woke up eventually (you'll have t forgive me for being vauge,  I seem to be missing a few chunks of monday due to some later drinking related activities :s).
I seem to remember having another chip on a stick at some point.
Anyways that night we went to Manic Monday, which was Medievl themed (I didn't have anything that fitted with the heme so I just went in a black velvet dress with my corset on over the top.
Marie looked amazing in the leather corset the Coplayers made for her, she looked a little more Boudica than Medieval, but still pretty awesome :)
Laura wore a Medevil style dress, and Johno went as the black Knight complete with detatchable arm (which he swung around a lot whilst dancing). Kev didn't go in costume either.
There were a few people in armor, and Tia was a hunting dog, and there was a girl dressed as a blood-spattered Nurse that still managed to be in theme (Medi-evil geddit).
The music was great again :) I danced with Kev a lot (although for future reference, the easy way to tell that I've dank to much and shouldn't drink anymore is if I dance to The Smiths), this included a bizzare swing dance to "Bad Things" where I kept thinking I was gonna break my ankles (I was wearing the six inch flashy heels), was fun though :)
After that there's a big ol' fuzzy gap and then my very own "Story which must never be repeated", and then I just about remember falling into bed.
Next thing I knew it was Tuesday morning...Boo!
Had to pack our stuff and leave :(
But all in all I had a fun weekend, and I can't wait until the next one :D
