Steampunk Fail (warning, bitchy post)

alexandriawebI useually stay out of this kind of thing but they came looking for me!
Someone on the ever lulzy Vampire Freaks invited me to join the cult "Steam-Punkers", I've been avoiding Steam Punk since it became trendy because it brought out all the pervs and crazies, but the godawful photo on the invite pretty much forced me to click:
Yeah because in a Neo-Victorian world she wouldn't be aressted for public indecency AT ALL, now would she?
*takes a moment to sharpen claws before proceeding to the Steampunk Clothing thread*
Oh dear Gods no!
WTF IS THAT???
Allow me to list my problems with this:
1.It's probably not that colour, there's a sepia filter over it, kind of pointless for a fashion shoot.
2. That isone seriously fugly dress.
3.COG PRINT!
4. BROWN!
BEHOLD! Two more gems from the set:
JUST WHAT???
And what in the word is with the giant bloomer thingys? And the terrible choices of footwear??? gfdfg!
Stupidly I then made a bee-line for the "Show us your Steampunkery" thread, where I stumbled upon:
I don't get it...At all, how is this Steampunk?
Anyways the whole cult is one big advert for: steam-punkers.com
Which you know if the name wasn't allready taken I'd suggest a name change to "failblog"...
Their gallery is all thieved images (my concience is making me email Datamancer to tell him they have a photo of one of his laptops that they haven't even bothered to credit as his), and it's just all so eye searingly bad!
